Photo distortion

A photo distortion can be achieved only if an individual has a distortion camera. It is necessary to understand the meaning of distortion photography to make the correct use of this style of photography. Distortion is nothing but modification in shape and section of an image. This is achieved by the use of distortion camera which has an inbuilt distortion lens or carrying such lens for your camera. To explain in a bit more detail about distortion in photography terms, photo distortion occurs when straight lines in the photo are not delivered perfectly straight. One more key thing to know about distortion in photographs is that there exist two main types of distortion, barrel distortion and pincushion distortion. First let us understand barrel distortion, in this type of distortion the image maximization decreases with the optic axis, it appears as the picture has been taken around a ball. In pincushion photography distortion it is exact opposite of barrel, it seems as if the photo is takes from inside of a bowl. This type of photo distortion is used for several specific purposes for example barrel one is used to take photo of earth hemisphere with fisheye lens and pincushion is used with the help of telephoto lens. The blend of both is known as moustache distortion.

In today’s world everything is done digitally and distortion is no exception. Digital distortion is widely used not only in photography but also for graphics and special effects in film world.  Digital distortion helps them perform acts in motion as well but a distortion camera cannot, it can do it only on still photos but not in motion picture, digital distortion gives this liberty to film makers to use distortion feature in motion pictures.
